Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza


  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 1 ½ cups mozzarella, shredded
  • ⅓ pound Italian sausage
  • ⅓ cup pepperoni, diced
  • ⅔ cup pizza sauce
  • ½ cup Parmesan


  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Lightly oil the bottom, but not the sides, of a 9-inch (23 cm) cake pan.
  3. Press the dough into the bottom and up the sides of the pan, creating a thick crust.
  4. Sprinkle 1 cup of mozzarella cheese evenly over the crust.
  5. Crumble the raw Italian sausage on top of the cheese.
  6. Add the diced pepperoni on top of the sausage.
  7. Spoon the pizza sauce over the top, covering the sausage and pepperoni.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the dough is deeply golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
