Ingredients:

• 200g butter
• 200g sugar
• 4 eggs
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 250g all-purpose flour
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 2 tbsp cocoa powder
• 1 can (about 400g) cherries, drained
• 100g dark chocolate, chopped
• 500ml milk
• 1 package vanilla pudding mix

Directions:

. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a baking dish.
. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract.
. Gradually add flour and baking powder, mixing until smooth.
. Divide the batter in half. Mix cocoa powder into one half.
. Spread the vanilla batter evenly in the prepared dish. Then, spoon the cocoa batter on top and spread it gently.
. Arrange the drained cherries on top of the batter and press them slightly into the surface.
. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Let it cool completely.
. In a saucepan, heat milk over medium heat until warm. Stir in vanilla pudding mix and cook according to package instructions until thickened.
. Pour the pudding over the cooled cake, spreading it evenly.
. Melt dark chocolate with some cream and pour it over the pudding layer.
. Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
