  • 4 pounds Pork Shoulder Trimmed and cut into chunks
For the Aromatics
  • 1 large Onion Quartered
  • 5 cloves Garlic Minced
For the Citrus
  • 1 cup Orange Juice Freshly squeezed preferred
  • 1/4 cup Lime Juice Freshly squeezed preferred
For the Spices
  • 2 teaspoons Ground Cumin
  • 1 tablespoon Dried Oregano Mexican oregano preferred
  • 1 tablespoon Chili Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Trim excess fat from the pork shoulder and cut into large chunks. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Place quartered onion and minced garlic in the bottom of the crockpot. Add seasoned pork pieces on top.
  3. Pour orange juice and lime juice over the pork. Sprinkle with cumin, oregano, and chili powder.
  4. Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours.
  5. Once cooked, remove pork shoulder and shred with two forks.
  6. For extra crunch, spread shredded pork on a baking sheet and broil for 5-7 minutes.
