Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a mini heart-shaped cake pan.
  2. Sift together 1 ½ cups of all-purpose flour, ½ teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of baking soda.
  3. Cream together ½ cup of softened butter and 1 cup of white sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  4. Mix in 2 mashed overripe bananas and 2 beaten eggs until fully incorporated. If using, fold in ½ cup of chopped walnuts.
  5. Pour the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, gently fold until just combined.
  6. Carefully fill the mini cake pan about ¾ full with batter.
  7. Bake for approximately 15 minutes, check with a toothpick for doneness.
  8. Allow to cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before transferring to parchment paper.
  9. Prepare the frosting by mixing ½ cup of softened butter, 2 cups of powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons of milk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth.
  10. Once cooled, frost the banana bread hearts and add colorful sprinkles for decoration.
