Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until golden brown and crispy, about 8–10 minutes. Transfer to paper towel to blot grease.
  2. Once cooled, chop bacon into bite-sized pieces. Finely chop the onion if using.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sugar or honey, white vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  4. Add broccoli, sunflower seeds, raisins, and bacon to the bowl with dressing. Mix gently.
  5. Toss all ingredients until well coated. Ensure broccoli is evenly distributed.
  6. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
