Method

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the Wonton Shells: Preheat your deep fryer or a large pot with coconut oil to 175 °C (350 °F). Wrap each wonton wrapper around a cream horn or cone mold and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Cook the Sushi Rice: Cook sushi rice according to package instructions, about 15 minutes. Mix in rice vinegar, sugar, and salt while still warm. Let it cool to room temperature.
  3. Prepare the Tuna Filling: Cube or flake tuna into a bowl. Mix in Kewpie mayonnaise, optional tomato sauce, sriracha, and lime zest until well combined.
  4. Assemble the Sushi Wonton Cones: Fill each wonton cone with sushi rice, followed by avocado and tuna mixture. Avoid overstuffing.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle furikake or black sesame seeds on top. Arrange cones upright on a platter and serve with dipping sauces.
