Preparation

  5. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat until it reaches 350°F.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, frying in small batches for 3-4 minutes on each side.
  7. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the fritters to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  8. Dust warm fritters with powdered sugar or drizzle with glaze, if desired.
