Ingredients

For the Brisket
  • 3 lbs Brisket A well-marbled piece ensures maximum flavor and tenderness; look for the point end for juiciness.
  • 2 tsp Smoked Paprika Use true Spanish smoked paprika for the best results.
  • 1 cup BBQ Sauce Select a sauce with smoky undertones and balanced sweetness.
For the Tacos
  • 8 pieces Soft Corn Tortillas Essential for authentic flavor, warm and pliable for easy assembly.
  • 1 cup Fresh Cilantro Adds a burst of freshness; substitute flat-leaf parsley if desired.
  • 1 cup Zesty Salsa Choose a medium heat salsa that beautifully complements the brisket.

Equipment

  • Dutch oven
  • Slow Cooker
  • Skillet
  • Aluminum Foil

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F if using a Dutch oven or set up your slow cooker. Season brisket with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
  2. Place the seasoned brisket fat side up into your Dutch oven or slow cooker. If using the oven, add about a cup of water.
  3. Cook the brisket low and slow until fork-tender: about 3 hours in the oven or 6 to 8 hours in the slow cooker.
  4. Remove the brisket from heat and let it rest for 15 minutes, then shred and toss with BBQ sauce.
  5. Warm corn tortillas over a skillet or in the oven for a few minutes.
  6. Assemble the tacos with the shredded brisket, cilantro, and salsa. Customize with additional toppings as desired.
  7. Serve immediately, allowing everyone to add more BBQ sauce on the side if desired.
