Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium skillet over medium heat, add oil and sauté the chopped onion and green pepper for 5–7 minutes until tender.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sautéed vegetables with Gimme Lean ground beef, oatmeal, torn bread, ketchup, garlic salt, and pepper.
  3. Press the mixture firmly into a lightly oiled loaf pan, shaping it into a uniform loaf. Cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake at 375°F for 30 minutes.
  4. Prepare your desired topping by mixing together favorite ingredients such as ketchup and brown sugar.
  5. After 30 minutes, remove the loaf from the oven, cover with the topping, and return it to the oven without foil to bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  6. Let the vegetarian meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving warm, or cool for later use in sandwiches.
