Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350ºF (177ºC) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with a small amount of unsalted butter.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine dried thyme leaves, garlic powder, Cajun seasoning, dry mustard, and a pinch of salt. Mix well.
  3. Slice the Vidalia onions and place them in a large mixing bowl. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over them and toss to coat.
  4. Transfer the seasoned onions into the greased baking dish, spreading them out evenly.
  5. Place pats of unsalted butter over the onions, followed by a layer of mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil, sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top, and bake uncovered for an additional 25-30 minutes.
