Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350ºF (177ºC) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with a small amount of unsalted butter.
- In a mixing bowl, combine dried thyme leaves, garlic powder, Cajun seasoning, dry mustard, and a pinch of salt. Mix well.
- Slice the Vidalia onions and place them in a large mixing bowl. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over them and toss to coat.
- Transfer the seasoned onions into the greased baking dish, spreading them out evenly.
- Place pats of unsalted butter over the onions, followed by a layer of mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil, sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top, and bake uncovered for an additional 25-30 minutes.
