  • 1 cup ketchup base for sweet glaze
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar for caramelized sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard adds depth, optional

  • 1 teaspoon pepper to enhance flavor

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your loaf pan by greasing it lightly.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, dry mustard, and Tabasco sauce to prepare the glaze.
  3. Tear the bread into pieces and soak in milk for around 2-3 minutes.
  4. In a large bowl, mix soaked bread, ground beef, eggs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, salt, and pepper until just combined.
  5. Transfer the meat mixture to the loaf pan and shape it gently into a loaf.
  6. Lay bacon strips over the top, overlapping slightly, and brush with the glaze.
  7. Bake in the oven for 45 minutes, then add more glaze and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  8. Let the meatloaf rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
