Method

Steps
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil and add your choice of noodles. Cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and rinse briefly under warm water. Set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  3. Stir in 3 cloves of minced garlic and 1 tablespoon of freshly grated ginger into the browned beef. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup soy sauce, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, and 1/4 cup water until sugar dissolves. Pour into the skillet.
  5. Mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water to create a slurry. Gradually add this to the skillet while stirring continuously.
  6. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet, gently tossing them with the beef and sauce. Cook for an additional minute.
  7. Drizzle in 1 teaspoon of sesame oil and fold in half of the chopped green onions. Serve garnished with remaining green onions.
