Preparation Steps
- Begin by forming the ground beef into evenly sized patties, approximately 1-inch thick. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Heat a tablespoon of cooking oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned.
- Remove the patties and in the same skillet, add sliced onions, cooking over medium heat until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
- Sprinkle the flour over the onions, stir well, and cook for an additional minute. Gradually whisk in beef broth until gravy is smooth.
- Return the patties to the skillet, cover, and let simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.
- Serve immediately with sides such as mashed potatoes or green beans.
