Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Gather your ingredients and tools.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown 1 pound of ground beef for about 5-7 minutes until no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add a diced onion and 8 ounces of sliced mushrooms. Sauté for another 5-7 minutes until softened.
  4. Stir in 2 minced garlic cloves and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  5. Pour in 1 cup of uncooked long-grain white rice, 2 cups of beef broth, and 1 cup of cream of mushroom soup. Stir well and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and gently fold in ½ cup of sour cream.
  7. Transfer the mixture into a greased 9x13 baking dish and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
