Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté diced onion for 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for one more minute before adding ground beef, cooking until browned.
  4. Season with paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper; add undrained diced tomatoes and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. In a large bowl, combine uncooked white rice and beef broth, mix in the beef mixture and optional vegetables.
  6. Grease the baking dish, pour the mixture into it and spread evenly.
  7. Top with shredded cheddar cheese, cover with foil, and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove foil and bake uncovered for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is golden.
  9. Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
