- In a medium saucepan, combine granulated sugar and cold water over medium heat. Stir gently until the sugar dissolves and reaches a golden amber color, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and incorporate salted butter and heavy whipping cream, stirring continuously. Add sea salt and set aside to cool.
- In a large saucepan, melt salted butter over low heat. Add miniature marshmallows and stir constantly until completely melted and smooth, about 5 minutes. Then pour in a cup of prepared salted caramel, mixing well.
- Remove from heat and gently fold in Rice Krispies cereal and dried apple pieces using a spatula.
- Line a baking pan with parchment paper, pour in the Krispy treat mixture, and use a spatula to evenly spread and press down. Cool for about 20 minutes, drizzling additional salted caramel on top once slightly set.
- After fully cooling for about 30 minutes, cut into squares or rectangles with a sharp knife and serve.
