Ingredients
  

For the Hibiscus Tea
  • 1 cup dried hibiscus flowers
  • 4 cups water
For the Lemonade
  • 4-6 pieces fresh lemons for juicing
  • 1 cup sweetener sugar, honey, or agave nectar
Optional Flavor Enhancers
  • 1/4 cup mint leaves for garnish
  • 1 inch ginger freshly grated
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice optional
  • 1 cup sparkling water for topping

Method
 

Brew Hibiscus Tea
  1. Boil 4 cups of water and steep 1 cup of dried hibiscus flowers for 15-20 minutes. Strain and allow to cool.
Juice Lemons
  1. Juice 4-6 fresh lemons to obtain about 1 cup of lemon juice.
Mix the Drink
  1. Combine cooled hibiscus tea, lemon juice, and sweetener in a large pitcher, stirring until dissolved.
Serve
  1. Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices and mint. Optionally, add sparkling water.
