- Wash 2 cups of fresh strawberries under cool water, then slice into quarters and set aside.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 package of instant vanilla pudding mix and 2 cups of cold milk for about 2 minutes until smooth and thickened. Let sit for 5 minutes.
- Gently fold in 1 container of whipped topping into the pudding mixture.
- Layer half of the sponge cake cubes in a large bowl, followed by half of the whipped topping mixture and half of the strawberries.
- Repeat with another layer of sponge cake cubes, remaining strawberries, and finish with the remaining whipped topping mixture, smoothing out the top.
- Cover tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
