Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the Cabbage: Remove the outer leaves of the cabbage, cut it in half, and remove the core. Separate 8 to 10 large leaves.
  2. Blanch the Cabbage: Bring a large pot of water to a boil, add the cabbage leaves, and blanch for 2 to 3 minutes. Transfer to ice water to cool.
  3. Make the Filling: Combine ground beef, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Add egg and cheese if using, and mix well.
  4. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Assemble the Burgers: Place filling in the center of a cabbage leaf, fold the edges over, and arrange on the baking sheet.
  6. Brush with Olive Oil: Drizzle or brush each cabbage burger with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
  7. Bake to Perfection: Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until cabbage is tender and browned. Broil for an additional 1 to 2 minutes for crispiness.
