  • 8 oz cream cheese brick-style for best consistency
  • 2 cups strawberries fresh and diced
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk dairy-free option can be used
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup can substitute with honey or agave syrup
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract optional
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • powdered confectioners’ sugar for dusting before serving

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
  2. Evenly distribute cubed brioche bread across the bottom of your prepared baking dish.
  3. Place cubed cream cheese and half of the diced strawberries on top of the bread layer.
  4. Top with the remaining cubed brioche bread.
  5. Whisk together eggs, whole milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and kosher salt in a large mixing bowl.
  6. Pour the custard over the layered bread, ensuring it soaks into all the bread.
  7. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
  8. Remove from the refrigerator and let sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before baking.
  9. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for another 25-30 minutes.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving, topped with remaining fresh strawberries and a dusting of confectioners’ sugar.
