- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two small loaf pans with butter or cooking spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas using a fork until mostly smooth with a few lumps remaining.
- Add the dry yellow cake mix and eggs to the mashed bananas, and mix until combined with no dry lumps.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pans, filling each about two-thirds full and smoothing the tops.
- If desired, sprinkle chocolate chips or nuts on top of the batter and lightly press them in.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-35 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven, let cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
