Step-by-Step Instructions for Pulled Beef Sandwich
- Prepare the Chuck Roast: Trim excess fat from your chuck roast and pat it dry. Season all sides with salt and pepper.
- Sauté the Aromatics: In a skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté for about 5 minutes, then stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Sear the Chuck Roast: Increase heat to medium-high. Sear each side of the seasoned chuck roast for about 3-4 minutes until golden-brown.
- Transfer to Slow Cooker: Move the chuck roast to the slow cooker, add sautéed onions and garlic, beef broth and barbecue sauce.
- Slow Cook for Tenderness: Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours until fork-tender.
- Shred the Beef: Remove chuck roast, let it rest for 10 minutes, then shred into bite-sized pieces.
- Assemble the Sandwich: Toast the buns, pile shredded beef on the bottom half, and add coleslaw.
- Serve and Enjoy: Add the top half of the bun to complete the sandwich and serve hot.
