  • 2 slices Rye Bread or any bread you prefer
  • 2 tablespoons Salted Butter softened
  • 1/4 cup Russian Dressing or Thousand Island dressing
  • 4 slices Deli Swiss Cheese or Muenster/Smoked Gouda
  • 8 ounces Deli Pastrami thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup Dill Pickles adjust to taste
For the Slaw
  • 2 cups Coleslaw or Broccoli Slaw prepared in advance

Preparation Steps
  1. Prepare the slaw by mixing your slaw ingredients in a bowl, cover, and refrigerate for at least one hour.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of rye bread with softened salted butter.
  3. Heat a large frying pan over medium-high heat, then melt a small pat of butter.
  4. Cook the deli pastrami in the hot pan for about 1 minute on each side until warmed through.
  5. Spread a generous layer of Russian dressing on the unbuttered sides of the rye bread.
  6. Assemble the sandwich by layering the warm pastrami, slaw, dill pickles, and Swiss cheese.
  7. Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side facing out, and press down gently.
  8. Cook the sandwich in the pan over medium-low heat for about 4–5 minutes on each side.
  9. Remove from the pan, let cool for a minute, then slice in half and serve.
