- In a small saucepan, combine the frozen dark sweet cherries and water over medium heat. Cook for about 5–7 minutes until the mixture becomes syrupy.
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine the old-fashioned rolled oats, chia seeds, unsweetened cocoa powder, maple syrup, milk, and vanilla extract. Stir until fully blended and smooth.
- Scoop half of the oat mixture into a clean glass jar, smoothing it out evenly.
- Spoon cherry compote over the first oat layer, spreading it evenly.
- Add the remaining oat mixture on top of the cherry compote layer, smoothing it out.
- Spoon plain Greek yogurt on top of the final oat layer, creating a swirl for added flair.
- Sprinkle dark chocolate chips or shavings over the Greek yogurt layer for a decadent touch.
- Seal the jar and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight.
