  • 4 medium potatoes thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for sautéing
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups beef broth or vegetable broth for veggie option
  • 1/2 cup milk optional for creaminess
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the potatoes into ¼-inch thick rounds and set aside.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté chopped onions and minced garlic for 3–4 minutes.
  4. Add ground beef to the skillet, season with Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper, and cook until browned, about 5–7 minutes.
  5. Grease a large baking dish with olive oil. Layer half of sliced potatoes, half of beef mixture, and half of cheddar cheese. Repeat layers.
  6. Pour beef broth over the layers, adding milk if desired.
  7. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 35–40 minutes.
  8. Remove foil, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, and bake uncovered for an additional 10 minutes.
  9. Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving, garnished with fresh parsley.
