Preparation Steps
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the potatoes into ¼-inch thick rounds and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté chopped onions and minced garlic for 3–4 minutes.
- Add ground beef to the skillet, season with Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper, and cook until browned, about 5–7 minutes.
- Grease a large baking dish with olive oil. Layer half of sliced potatoes, half of beef mixture, and half of cheddar cheese. Repeat layers.
- Pour beef broth over the layers, adding milk if desired.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 35–40 minutes.
- Remove foil, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, and bake uncovered for an additional 10 minutes.
- Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving, garnished with fresh parsley.
