Waffle Preparation
- Prepare Classic Waffle Batter by whisking together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl. In another bowl, combine buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla, then mix with dry ingredients until just combined.
- For Red Velvet Batter, mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In a separate bowl, mix buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, vanilla, and red food coloring, then stir into dry ingredients.
- Preheat the waffle iron according to manufacturer’s instructions and lightly grease it.
- Scoop classic batter into the iron, then add red velvet batter and swirl gently to create the marble effect.
- Cook waffles for about 4-6 minutes until steam subsides and they are golden brown.
- Serve immediately with whipped cream, fresh berries, or maple syrup.
