Step-by-Step Instructions for Garbage Bread
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and diced onions until brown, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper and drain excess grease.
  3. On a floured surface, roll out the refrigerated French bread dough into a rectangle approximately 12x18 inches.
  4. Spread ketchup and mustard over the rolled-out dough, leaving a ½-inch edge.
  5. Layer the cooked beef mixture, crumbled bacon, pickle spears, and cheese across the dough.
  6. Roll the dough from one long side, tightly encasing the fillings. Pinch and seal the edges.
  7. Brush the rolled dough with the beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds on top. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let the Garbage Bread cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serve warm with Thousand Island dressing on the side.
