Step-by-Step Instructions for Garbage Bread
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and diced onions until brown, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper and drain excess grease.
- On a floured surface, roll out the refrigerated French bread dough into a rectangle approximately 12x18 inches.
- Spread ketchup and mustard over the rolled-out dough, leaving a ½-inch edge.
- Layer the cooked beef mixture, crumbled bacon, pickle spears, and cheese across the dough.
- Roll the dough from one long side, tightly encasing the fillings. Pinch and seal the edges.
- Brush the rolled dough with the beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds on top. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Let the Garbage Bread cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serve warm with Thousand Island dressing on the side.

Drain excess grease from the filling to maintain a good texture. Experiment with different fillings for variety.
