Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Wash and pit about 1/2 to 3/4 cup of fresh cherries. Mash the cherries in a mason jar until they release their juices.
  2. Add 1/2 cup of rolled oats, 3/4 cup of milk, 1 tablespoon of maple syrup, 1 tablespoon of chia seeds, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Mix thoroughly.
  3. Seal the jar tightly and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow flavors to meld.
  4. Stir the oats before serving and top with more cherries or toasted almonds if desired.
