For the Steak
  • 2 pounds Sirloin Steak Can substitute with chuck roast or stew meat
  • 1 tablespoon Kosher Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
For the Cooking Base
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil For searing the steak
  • 1 large Sweet Onion Sliced
  • 4 cloves Garlic Minced
For the Au Jus
  • 4 cups Unsalted Beef Stock/Broth
  • 1 packet Au Jus Gravy Mix Can substitute with onion soup mix
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted Butter Can use plant-based butter for dairy-free
For Garnishing
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Chopped Parsley

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, combine diced sirloin steak with kosher salt and black pepper. Toss thoroughly to coat each piece.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and drizzle in olive oil. Sear the seasoned steak for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned, then transfer to the Crockpot.
  3. Add sliced sweet onions and minced garlic to the Crockpot. Stir gently to combine with the beef.
  4. Pour unsalted beef stock over the mixture in the Crockpot. Sprinkle au jus gravy mix on top evenly.
  5. Slice unsalted butter and lay it on top of the steak mixture.
  6. Cover the Crockpot and set it to cook on HIGH for 3-4 hours or LOW for 6-8 hours.
  7. After cooking, lift the lid and stir. Serve the steak bites garnished with fresh chopped parsley.
