Step-by-Step Instructions for Creepy Shepherd’s Pie
  1. Peel and chop the potatoes into uniform chunks. Place in a large pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook for about 15 minutes until fork-tender. Drain and mash with butter, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until creamy.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, then add diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until translucent. Add ground beef, cooking until browned (5-7 minutes). Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, mixed veggies, broth, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  3. In a baking dish, spoon in the ground beef mixture. Pipe the cooled mashed potatoes in ghost shapes on top. Add peppercorns or chosen toppings as 'eyes'.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.
