Cooking Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chopped yellow onion and sauté for 4-5 minutes until softened and translucent.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute.
  4. Add the lean ground beef and brown for 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart.
  5. Sprinkle salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and dried oregano over the beef mixture and stir well.
  6. Add the chopped green cabbage to the skillet and stir well to combine. Cook for about 5-6 minutes.
  7. Stir in the rinsed long-grain white rice, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix thoroughly.
  8. Bring to a gentle simmer, then reduce the heat to low and cover. Cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  9. Remove the lid and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the casserole. Bake for 5-10 minutes until cheese is melted.
  10. Allow to rest for 5 minutes and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
