Method
 

Baking Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar for about 3-4 minutes until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the large eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then add vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients and mix gently until just combined.
  5. Fold in semi-sweet chocolate chips and any optional nuts until evenly distributed.
  6. Using a cookie scoop, drop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing each scoop about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and centers are slightly underbaked.
  8. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
