Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, onion, garlic powder, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and half of the ketchup. Mix gently until combined. Press the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  3. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until no pink remains in the meat.
  4. Spread a layer of mashed potatoes over the meatloaf. Sprinkle shredded cheese and crumbled bacon on top.
  5. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted. Optionally broil for an extra 1-2 minutes to brown the top.
  6. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving, then garnish with green onions or chives.
