Ingredients:
- 4 green tomatoes, sliced 1/4 inch thick
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 2 teaspoons garlic salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
Instructions:
- In a shallow dish, combine the flour, garlic salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. ????????
- In a separate shallow dish, beat together the eggs and milk.
- In a third shallow dish, mix together the cornmeal and bread crumbs.
- Dip each tomato slice first into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and finally into the cornmeal mixture to coat.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Fry the tomato slices in the hot oil for 2 to 3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the tomato slices from the oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
