Indulge in the sweet magic of Caramel Apple Cupcakes!
Ingredients:
• 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
• 1 ½ tsp baking powder
• ½ tsp baking soda
• ¼ tsp salt
• ½ tsp ground cinnamon
• ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
• ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 2 large eggs
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• ½ cup sour cream
• 1 ½ cups chopped apples (peeled and cored)
• ⅓ cup caramel sauce
• 12 apple slices for decoration
• Whipped cream for topping (optional)
Directions:
. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
. In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the sour cream, beginning and ending with the dry mixture.
. Gently fold in the chopped apples.
. Spoon the batter into the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
. Bake for 20-22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into a cupcake.
. Once cooled, drizzle each cupcake with caramel sauce and top with an apple slice.
. Optional: Add a dollop of whipped cream for extra delight!
