Craving a decadent treat

Ingredients:

• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
• 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
• 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
• 1 tsp salt
• 2 large eggs
• 1 cup buttermilk
• 1/2 cup vegetable oil
• 2 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 cup boiling water
• 15 Oreo cookies, crushed

For the frosting:

• 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
• 2 cups powdered sugar
• 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1/4 cup milk
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 8 Oreo cookies, crushed

Directions:

. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
. Add eggs, buttermilk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
. Pour in the boiling water and stir until the batter is smooth. Fold in the crushed Oreos.
. Divide the batter equally between the prepared pans.
. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
. While the cakes are cooling, make the frosting. In a medium bowl, beat the butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and vanilla extract, and beat until smooth.
. Once the cakes are completely cool, spread a layer of frosting on top of one cake layer. Place the other cake layer on top and frost the entire cake.
. Decorate the cake with crushed Oreo cookies on top.
. Slice, serve, and enjoy!
