Ingredients:
- 6 cups day-old bread cubes
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 2 cups milk
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
For the vanilla sauce:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish. ????️????
- In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes and raisins.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, white sugar, vanilla extract, salt, and cinnamon.
- Gradually stir in the melted butter.
- Pour the egg mixture over the bread mixture and stir gently to coat.
- Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes to allow the bread to soak up the egg mixture.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the pudding is set and golden brown. ????????
- While the pudding is baking, make the vanilla sauce. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Stir in the white sugar and heavy cream and bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Serve the bread pudding warm with vanilla sauce drizzled on top. ????????
